LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo men's basketball concluded a three-game road swing here Tuesday evening with a 60-47 setback to Colorado Christian in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at the CCU Events Center. The 47 points were a season low for the ThunderWolves.
The ThunderWolves' fifth straight loss dropped them to 10-13 overall and 5-10 in the RMAC, while CCU improved to 10-13 overall and 6-9 in the RMAC with the win. The setback dropped the Pack to 11th place in the league standings with five games remaining in the regular season.
Along with scoring a season-low 47 points, the Pack also shot a season-low 29.1 percent from the field as they were 16-for-55 from the field in the loss. In addition, the Pack shot 14.3 percent (3-for-21) from the three-point line, making just one of its 14 3-point attempts in the second half.

Brevin Walter (Las Vegas, Nev./South Dakota Mines) paced the Pack offense with 11 points and five rebounds, while redshirt sophomore guard
Jaden Kennis (Windsor, Colo./MSU Denver) adding 10 points off the bench, including hitting two of the Pack's three treys in the game. Senior forward
De'Shaun Cooper (San Diego, Calif./Balboa School) tallied nine points and five rebounds to push his career total to 1,024 points, which is 27th on the school's career charts.
Trailing 33-21 at the half, the Pack opened the second half on an 11-2 run to pull within 35-32 a little over six minutes into the half. The run was aided by six points from Cooper, five CCU turnovers and 5-of-6 free throw shooting. CCU, though, responded with a 7-0 run to push its lead back out to 42-32 following a driving lay-up by Shayleen Woodberry with 12:21 left in the game.
The Pack responded with a 7-5 run keyed by five points from freshman guard
Jordan Blair (Keller, Texas/Keller Central) to pull the visitors within 47-40 with 8:56 remaining in the contest. Blair also tallied nine points in the loss.
CSU Pueblo wouldn't get any closer as CCU closed the game on a 13-7 run to cap the scoring and post its first season sweep over the Pack since the series began in 2006.
The Pack shot 32 percent from the field and 7.1 percent from downtown in the second half.
Jacob Everson paced the Cougars with 14 points, while Bobby McWard added 11 points off the bench in the win. Nathaniel Law and CJ Barnes each scored eight points off the bench as CCU's bench outscored the Pack, 27-10, on the night.
The Pack held an early 5-3 lead, before CCU used a 16-8 run to take a 19-13 lead with 11:29 left in the opening half. The Pack, though, answered right back by scoring five straight points to pull within 19-18 with 9:21 left in the first half. That would be as close as the Pack would get as CCU scored 14 of the next 16 points to push its lead to 33-20 with 1:27 left in the half. The 13-point lead was the largest of the half for the Cougars. Walter made one of two free throws with 25 seconds left to cut CCU's lead to 33-21 at the half.
In the first half, the Pack shot 26 percent from the field, was 2-for-7 (28.6 percent) from the 3-point line and 5-for-12 (41.7 percent) from the free throw line, while CCU shot 41 percent from the field and 46 percent (6-for-13) from the 3-point line.
While the Pack shot a season-low 29 percent from the field and 14 percent from the 3-point line, CCU finished the game shooting 43 percent from the field and 40 percent (8-for-20) from the 3-point line.
CCU held a 37-26 edge on the boards as Promise Idiaru led the way with eight boards, while Cooper, Walter and junior guard
Denim Johnson (Omaha, Neb./Trinity Valley CC) each had five boards to pace the Pack.
The Pack forced CCU into 13 turnovers that led to 13 points and added five steals, including three from senior guard
Armon Muldrew (Perris, Calif./San Bernardino Valley). CCU forced nine Pack turnovers and also had five steals.
The Pack also struggled from the free throw line as they were 12-for-23 (52.2 percent) from the line, while CCU was 8-for-11 (72.7 percent) from the line.
CCU blocked four shots and outscored the Pack 10-5 on second chance points as each team recorded seven offensive rebounds on the night.
The Pack will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 13 as they return home to Massari Arena to host UCCS (14-8, 8-6 RMAC) for a 7:30 p.m. RMAC contest. The Mountain Lions earned an 82-60 win over the Pack in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Jan. 11.
