SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (December 7, 2025) — CSU Pueblo Wrestling delivered a statement win on Friday night, taking down No. 21 San Francisco State 33–23 behind a surge of bonus-point performances and three first-period pins.
The dual opened with fireworks at 184 pounds, where Donn Greer (Sr., Soledad, Calif.) set the tone with a dominant fall over Gavin Funk at 2:11 to give the ThunderWolves an early spark. CSU Pueblo rolled that momentum into back-to-back wins at the next two weights, as Remington Winmill (197) (R-Jr., Wendell, Idah) and Henry Sturn (285) (Sr., Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) each recorded forfeits to push the Pack ahead 18–0.
San Francisco State cracked into the team scoring with a forfeit win at 125, but Julian Espinoza (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) quickly answered at 133. The freshman standout controlled the pace from whistle to whistle, earning a 10–0 major decision over Brayden Concepcion to stretch the CSU Pueblo lead to 22–6.
At 141 pounds, 2024 NCAA Qualifier Eddie Bowman (So., Trinidad, Colo.) added another bonus-point showcase. Bowman poured on the offense against Khaisen Chen, securing an 18–3 technical fall in 5:37 to further separate the Pack.
The Gators battled back with wins at 149, 157, and 165 — including two falls and a technical fall — to close the gap, but CSU Pueblo slammed the door at 174. Solomon Arnds-Volcin (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) delivered the dual-clinching pin, decking Illia Borshchenko in 3:37 to seal the ThunderWolves' victory.
CSU Pueblo improves to 2–0 in dual action with the win, while posting their highest team score of the young season. The Pack return to action next week as they compete at the Midwest Classic (Dec. 12-13) in Indianapolis.
