ThunderWolves Fall in Overtime to Westminster in RMAC Quarterfinal

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Nov. 9, 2025) — The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking close one on Sunday afternoon, falling 1-0 in overtime to Westminster in the first round of the RMAC Tournament at Dumke Field.

After 90 minutes of scoreless regulation play, Westminster's Jack Cardwell found the back of the net in the 95th minute off assists from Owen Gallo and James Miles to lift the Griffins past the ThunderWolves.

CSU Pueblo (9-3-7) generated 11 total shots and six on target but couldn't solve Griffin goalkeeper Tommy Manwaring, who turned away every attempt to post the shutout. Joseph Delaney (Fr., Sutton, England) and Nick Cenek (Gr., Peoria, Ill.) each tallied a pair of shots on goal to pace the Pack attack, while Brandon Sanchez (Jr., Tucson, Ariz.) and Logan Cozier (R-So., Pickering, Ontario, Canada) also tested the keeper.

On the defensive end, goalkeeper Esteban Gonzalez (Jr., Brussels, Belgium) recorded three saves while facing nine shots in the 95-minute effort. The ThunderWolves' back line, led by Jose Peris Gimeno (Fr., Burriana, Spain), Pedro Martinez (Fr., Langreo, Spain) and Leonardo Vilchis,(Gr., Mexico City, Mexico), helped hold Westminster to just four shots on goal before the overtime winner.

The Griffins (11-5-2, 6-2-2 RMAC) took advantage of their only overtime opportunity to secure the victory and advance to the RMAC semifinals.

CSU Pueblo finished the match with a 6–4 edge in shots on goal and a 5–4 advantage in corner kicks. The Pack picked up three yellow cards, all coming in the second half and overtime.
