PUEBLO, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team continued its impressive fall campaign with a third-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II West Regional Preview Invitational, hosted by the ThunderWolves at Pueblo Country Club.
Competing against one of the toughest fields in the country, the Pack held their own on the challenging par-71, 5,981-yard layout that will serve as the host site for the 2026 NCAA West Regional Championship next May. The top five teams at that event will earn their ticket to the national championship at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The ThunderWolves opened strong with a team round of 16-over 300 on Monday, then battled through tougher scoring conditions on day two to post a 28-over 312, finishing at 44-over 612 for the tournament - good for third place out of 21 teams.
Defending national champion and current No. 1-ranked Dallas Baptist University captured the team title at 16-over, followed by Cal State Los Angeles in second. CSU Pueblo edged out several regionally ranked programs, with Cal State San Marcos and St. Mary's University rounding out the top five.
Leading the Pack was sophomore standout Yale Lee of England, who posted two consistent rounds of 75–74 to finish at 7-over 149, earning a seventh-place individual finish in the 110-player field.
Freshman Thale Victoria Estensen of Norway continued her strong collegiate start with back-to-back rounds of 76–76 to finish 10-over and tie for 14th place.
Swedish standout Lisa Ekberg posted rounds of 77–78 (155) to place 30th, while junior transfer Olivia Heard carded 73–84 to tie for 46th. All-Conferenc standout Freya Constable opened with a promising 76 before a tough second round of 85, finishing tied for 60th.
Two individuals also represented the Pack in Pueblo: Sinead Ni Cheilleachair (81–81) and freshman Payton Connelly of Arizona (78–87), both gaining valuable competitive experience on their home course.
Head Coach Tammy Lim's squad now turns its attention to the final stop of the fall season - the Southwest Airlines Dennis Rose Invitational, hosted at Waikoloa Beach Golf Club in Waikoloa, Hawaii, Oct. 20–21.
