PUEBLO, Colo. (January 18, 2025) - The Colorado State University Pueblo wrestling team improved to 8-2 on the season and pushed its win streak to eight dual wins in a row after defeating Cal Poly Humboldt 30-17 on Saturday inside Massari Arena.
The ThunderWolves were victorious in six of the ten matches including a pair of back-to-back pins at 184 and 197 pounds, helped the Pack to victory.
Starting the match,
Rhys Sellers (Jr., Gallup, NM) suffered a 12-4 MD defeat against Isaiah Miller at 125 pounds before the ThunderWolves and
Eddie Bowman (Fr., Trinidad, Colo.)Â were awarded six team points at 133 as the result of a forfeit by Humboldt.
AJ Gunn (Jr., Evergreen, Colo.) lost by fall (1:36) against Nathan Aguilar in the 141 match and
Cole Bennett (Jr., Grapevine, Tex.) lost a MD against Jayson Victoria at 149 pounds.
In the 157 match-up,
Alfredo Mendoza (Fr., Salinas, Calif.) fell 4-1 in a hard fought battle against Gil Mossburg.
Aaron Concepcion (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska) battled against Cole Zoller and won by a 6-2 decision to get the ThunderWolves within striking distance with the second half of the dual still to go.
Solomon Arnds-Volcin (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) helped to keep momentum in the Pack's favor and won by TF 19-4 over Diego Robles, earning the Pack five more team points.
At 184,
Donn Greer (Jr., Soledad, Calif.) made quick work against Micaiah Montalbin and won by fall (1:25) and
Remington Winmill (R-So., Wendell, Idaho) pinned his opponent Abdurrahmann Garner at 4:35 during the second period.
In the last match of the day,
Henry Sturn (So., Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) bested Carson Hatch and won by an 11-2 MD.
