Kevin Boston (Omaha, Neb.) has been named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Wrestler of the Week after finishing an unbeaten week to begin the 2025 New Year.
Boston went 6-0 last week and took home first place at the Western Colorado Open. For the weekend, Boston picked up three TF wins, two majors and finished in first place on Friday by defeating his opponent in SV-1.
He was active offensively all weekend and recorded 96 total points in his six matches.
Friday at the WCU Open, Boston had a solid day and earned two TF wins, a major, and a sudden victory-1 to bring home his first tournament win of his career.
In his first match of the day against Kyle Manuel from Northern Colorado, Boston went on a tear and scored a 19-4 TF.
The quarterfinal match pitted Boston against Jack Faczak from Adams State and Boston pulled away early and earned a 16-5 win and in the semifinal match against Miles Harris from Western Colorado, Boston put up 19 more points in a dominating 19-4 victory.
In his first place match versus Kieran Thompson from Adams State, the two battled to a 3-3 draw through three periods and needed an overtime period to settle the battle and Boston earned a take down and finished the match and posted a 6-3 win.
He continued to lead the ThunderWolves on Saturday in a pair of dual wins at the Tracy Borah Duals. Against Simon Fraser, Boston recorded a 23-6 TF and in his bout against Newberry College, he earned a 13-4 major.
Up next, CSU Pueblo will go on the road and take on San Francisco State and Adams State in a pair of RMAC duals on Wednesday. The Pack will face host-Adams State at 5 p.m. and will take on SFSU at 7 p.m. inside Plachy Hall in Alamosa.
