PUEBLO, Colo. (September 4, 2024) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team, under the direction of first-year Head Coach John Constable, opens the regular season this week on the road in Hays, Kansas with matches scheduled against Fort Hays State on Thursday at 6 p.m. and will take on Rockhurst on Saturday at Noon. Both matches will be played at FHSU Soccer Stadium.
The road trip will continue in week two with contests at Cal State San Bernardino on Sep. 13 and at Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 15.
The Pack begins their 2024 campaign and will look to build on last year's RMAC Tournament appearance with several key returners to the lineup, including team captains, Cortney Cowles (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), Sienna Gargano (Sr., Washington, Utah) and Ariadna Membrives Lora (Sr., Sabadell, Barcelona).
The roster will see 18 returners from last year and eight players tallied at least one point last season. Cowles led the team with six goals in 2023.
Carlia Johnson (R-Jr., The Valley, Anguilla) scored three goals along with two scores by Makenzi Roth (Jr., Murrieta, Calif.).
Cameron Farthing (Jr., Coventry, England) finished last season tied for the team lead in assists with three dimes.
CSU Pueblo added several key additions to this year's roster with a lot of collegiate experience. Sydney Lasater (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) comes to the Pack with nine goals and ten assists over two seasons to her credit while at UCCS.
Helena Domingues (So., Anadia, Portugal) and Kia Comstock (R-Sr., Rock Springs, Wyo.) return for the Pack and are two of five players to play in all 18 matches last year.
At goalkeeper, the ThunderWolves have a trio of keepers including returning redshirt-Senior Jacqueline Dominguez (Watkins, Colo.) who played in two games a season go and made one save.
Elaina Leitner (Fr., Longmont, Colo.) and Librieonna Cooper (Fr., Randolph, Vermont) are both newcomers and will add depth at the net for the ThunderWolves.
In sight for the Pack
CSU Pueblo continues its nonconference schedule on the road and travels to the Sunshine State for a two-game swing against a pair of teams from the California Collegiate Athletic Association in Cal State San Bernardino (Sept. 13) and Cal State San Marcos (Sept. 15).
