PUEBLO, Colo. (July 16, 2024) – It has been an impressive summer from our current and graduating class of ThunderWolves. Several members from the Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team have been playing this summer on various summer league teams, working on their craft while competing in the United Soccer League 2 (USL2) and in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
"Really proud of our player's accomplishments this summer," said CSU Pueblo Head Coach
Oliver Twelvetrees. "The largest group ever from our team have competed at the highest level allowed by current college players in the U.S.
He added, "Multiple championships and some serious player development has taken place that will help all our team collectively and individually moving forward."
Twelve current Pack players are playing on six different teams in the USL and four others are playing for teams in the NPSL.
Starting in the USL2,
Shjon Andrews (Longmont, Colo.),
Will Boyle (Fort Collins, Colo.),
Caio Oliveira (Espigao d'Oeste, Brazil) and
Luke Smith (Bolton, Manchester, England) are all playing for Albion SC Colorado, who finished in second place in the Mountain Division qualifying for the last 32 national playoffs.
Andrews has led his team's defense and have allowed only 11 goals in eleven matches. He has recorded over 400 minutes on the pitch. Smith has anchored the midfield and totaled 6 goal contributions.
The Flatirons won the Mountain Division with
Joey Joiner (Westminster, Colo.) as their top points scorer, he has an impressive 7 goals and 5 assists in 12 games started.
Ryan Nun (Broomfield, Colo.) and
Tobi Osifodunrin (Brighton, Colo.) are also competing with the Flatirons who are having their most successful season to date with Tobi contributing 3 goals.
Flatirons will compete in the playoffs against former ThunderWolves goalkeeper Nils Roth who plays for Tucson FC this weekend in a 4-team regional playoff with Albion facing Ventura County.
Competing in the Southwest Division for Arizona Arsenal SC,
Ignatius DeMark (Phoenix, Ariz.) has played in ten matches and has 9 starts to his credit and has played over 800 minutes and has helped his team to a 4-4-5 record who just missed out on the playoffs.
Playing on the Twin City Toucans in the Lone Star Division,
Giancarlo Pretto (Lajeado Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil) has appeared in five games and has one goal in 309 minutes on the pitch.
Tristan Whitlock (Lincoln, Neb.) has made six starts in the net and has recorded over 500 minutes between the posts.
Ruben Marquez (Kissimmee, Fla.) has played in four games for Swan City SC out of the South Florida Division.
Jared Maciel (Lindon, Utah) competed in the Mountain Division with Utah United.
In NPSL action,
Andres Solares (Guatemala City, Guatemala) has helped guide Duluth FC to a 9-1-4 record and won the North Conference to earn a place at the National Tournament. He has started every game and scored one goal.
Dylan Zavatini (Santa Catarina, Brazil) also starred for Duluth before returning for the start of his summer Master's program.
Ruben Volkert (Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany) competes with the Greenville United who currently are in sixth place in the Southeast Conference.
Jack Pascoe (Barry, Wales, England) is playing with the Lubbock Matadors from the Lone Star Conference and has scored one goal. The Matadors have a 5-2-4 record.

Kenshin Uneo also won the Central Division with the Des Moines Menace playing a big role.
USL2 is the leader in pre-professional soccer in North America. USL2 regular season takes place during the summer from May to mid-July. Each team plays at least 12 regular season games within their division. The top two teams in each division qualifies for the playoffs that will happen in late July.
The NPSL is one of the largest established men's soccer leagues in the United States with over 90 teams competing across the country. The NPSL was formed in 2002 and is a member of the United States Adult Soccer Association and affiliated with the United State Soccer Federation.
The 2023 National Runner-up ThunderWolves will return to campus and begin training for the 2024 season in August.
