Cole lands First Team All-RMAC, three others named HM; Huerta and Rogers snag Gold Glove honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 1, 2024) - Colorado State University Pueblo softball sophomore Caitlyn Cole (Merced, Calif.) was selected First Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and leads three others chosen Honorable Mention, along with two Pack players receiving Gold Glove accolades, announced Wednesday by league officials.

Emma Case (Fr., Loveland, Colo.), Marissa Robertson (So., Rocklin, Calif.), and Ashley Tosh (Jr., Fremont, Calif.) each were picked Honorable Mention. Defensively, Madelyn Huerta (So., Azusa, Calif.) and Raelynn Rogers (Jr., Surprise, Ariz.) earned Gold Gloves at short stop and third base, respectively.

Cole becomes the Pack's first First All-RMAC selection since 2018 when Michaela Burpee and Gabby Moreno were named to the first team.

This season, Cole led the ThunderWolves in multi-hit games (24) including seven 3-hit games. She recorded one 5-RBI

She finished the regular season and leads the team in Average (.462), Slugging (.854), On-Base Pct. (.535), OPS (1.389), stolen bases (27). She sits in top three in the RMAC in several offensive categories including fourth in hits (79).

Last week she broke the school record for doubles in a season (30) and ends the regular season as the RMAC leader in doubles.

Case had a strong freshman campaign and posted a .356 average in 48 games played. She totaled 48 hits, 11 runs and 13 doubles. She earned 69 total bases and recorded 30 RBI. She finished the regular season with 13 multi-hit games and had a 10-game stretch where she reached base safely.

Robertson receives Honorable Mention after appearing in 25 games in the pitcher's circle and recorded a 10-10 record and ten complete games. She threw 121.2 innings and led the team in strikeouts (70) and held opponents to a .293 batting average.

In the RMAC, Robertson ends the regular season in the top 10 in ERA (3.80), strikeouts and wins.

Tosh posted a .327 average and scored 24 runs along with 20 extra-base hits this season. She earned 13 multi-hit games including one 4-hit game.

Defensively, the Pack's left side of the infield was strong all season and were rewarded for their efforts.

Huerta finished the regular season with a .967 fielding percentage and earned 113 assists on 149 putouts. She was third on the team in hitting (.354) and had 12 XBH to her credit.

Rogers was sensational all season at the hot corner and earned a fielding percentage of .963 and recorded 87 assists and 43 putouts.

CSU Pueblo earned the 6-seed in this week's RMAC Tournament and will face 3-seed MSU Denver on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Colorado Mesa's CMU Softball Field in Grand Junction, Colorado.
