GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team concluded their regular season with a strong fourth place finish at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic hosted by Western New Mexico University.
This event was the regular season finale before CSU Pueblo heads off to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship. The RMAC Championships will be held in Henderson, NV. right outside of Las Vegas in two weeks time in which the CSU Pueblo women will be favorites to take home the title and advance to the postseason.
After a day one score of 301 and sitting in eighth place, CSU Pueblo took "Moving Day" to the extreme on day two. CSU Pueblo moved up four spots on day two with a score of seven over (295), and had the second best score of the day from schools that were in contention. CSU Pueblo defeated every RMAC school in the field, and finished ahead of numerous West Region teams with a team total of 596. West Texas A&M University took home the title with a 36-hole total of eight under par (278-290).
CSU Pueblo was led by one of the best players in the nation, and their leader; senior
Kylie Severin (Aurora, Colo./Vista Peak Prep), as she came back with a solid round of even part today to finish two over for the tournament (74-72) and a T10 finish.
After the round Severin said "Today was a grind but we got it done. I feel like we have momentum going into the postseason and I am excited to defend our title (RMAC Championship)."
Freshman
Lisa Ekberg (Kingsbacka, Sweeden) and sophomore
Freya Constable (Edinburgh, Scotland/Boroghmuir) proved to be consistent this week as both players finished T21 for the week, as the duo both shot 75-74 each day.
Junior
Anju Ogi (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) had a nice comeback round today, as the Colorado native improved two shots today and fired a round of three over par (75) to be a solid fourth score for the pack. Junior
Zoey Rodriguez (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo South) shot a round of 82 today to conclude her week.

CSU Pueblo will get a couple weeks of rest and time to work on their game before postseason action. The RMAC Championships will be held from April 21-23 at Boulder Creek Golf Club right outside of Las Vegas, Nev.
