LONGMONT, Colo. – The Colorado Collegiate Chronicle released its All-Colorado Teams for men's basketball this week and Colorado State University Pueblo was represented by freshman forward
Corbin Garver (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) as he was named to the publication's All-Freshman Team.
BFishInc., which is run by CSU Pueblo Athletics Historian Tim Simmons, produces the Colorado Collegiate Chronicle to inform interested individuals of basketball happenings at two and four-year schools in The Centennial State. The All-Colorado Teams recognize the best players throughout the state at the collegiate level, regardless of their institution's affiliation. Members of the All-Colorado Teams include student-athletes from Colorado, Colorado State, Northern Colorado, and Denver at the Division I level and Mines, Colorado Mesa, Colorado Christian, CSU Pueblo, Fort Lewis, MSU Denver, Regis, UCCS and Western Colorado at the Division II level.
Garver was one of 10 players named to the All-Freshman Team and he earns the honor after playing in 28 of the Pack's 29 games this past season. On the season, Garver averaged 16.6 minutes per game and also averaged 7.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.8 steals per game and shot 46 percent from the field, 38 percent from the 3-point line and 60 percent from the free throw line. In Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, Garver played in 21 games and averaged 6.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and shot 46 percent from the field and 33 percent from the 3-point line. Graver, who scored a career-high 30 points off the bench in the Pack's 102-96 loss to No. 2 seeded Fort Lewis in the quarterfinals of the RMAC Tournament, finished the 2023-24 season with nine-digit scoring efforts and was one of three Pack players to score at least 30 points in a game on the season.
The other members of the All-Colorado Freshman Team were UCCS' Xavier Martinez, Colorado's Cory Williams, Colorado Christian's Bradley Land, Regis' Jalen Brown, Mines' Alex Romack, Western Colorado's Tyler Halligan, Regis' Ty Cox, MSU Denver's Marzouq Ibn Abdur-Razaaq and Denver's DeAndre Craig.
The members of the All-Colorado First Team are Denver's Tommy Bruner, who led all men's players in the state in scoring as he averaged 24.0 points per game, Northern Colorado's Saint Thomas, Colorado's K.J. Simpson, Colorado State's Isaiah Stevens and Colorado's Tristan da Silva. The All-Colorado Second Team consisted of Colorado Mesa's Trevor Baskin, who was named the RMAC Player of the Year, Mines' Majok Deng, MSU Denver's Brayden Maldonado, Fort Lewis' Ogi Agbim and Colorado Mesa's Owen Koonce.
On the season, the Pack finished with a 14-15 overall record and was seventh in the RMAC with a 10-12 league record. The Pack advanced to the RMAC Tournament for the first time since 2017 this year and ended the regular season winning five of its last six games with the only loss being an 82-80 setback at home to RMAC regular season champion in its final home game of the campaign.
