LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 5, 2024) - Colorado State University Pueblo men's golfer
Jamie Roberts (Sr., Kinross, Scotland) had a strong bounce-back tournament showing and finished T-2nd and shot 12-under 204 through three rounds leading the ThunderWolves at the Desert Classic played at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Roberts finished one stroke behind medalist Adam Duncan from Colorado Christian. Duncan finished 69-69-67-203.
Lincoln Memorial won the team title and shot 26-under 276-289-273-838.
Strong winds on Sunday resulted in the opening round to be postponed until Monday and the tournament schedule was adjusted. The golfers played the first two rounds back-to-back on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
After the first 18 holes, Roberts sat in a four-way tie for second place and shot 5-under 67 and included birdies.Â
Staying on the course for round two, Roberts recorded five more birdies, coupled with two bogeys earned him a 3-under 69 for the round and put him T-1st at 8-under heading into the final round.
On Tuesday, Roberts started where he left off on Monday and hit three birdies and an eagle shot to record a 4-under 68 final round score.
Finishing T-28th,
Colt Tenpenny (So., Fulshear, Tex.) posted an Even-par 216 for the tournament and recorded scores of 73-69-74 during his outing.
He finished with 14 birdies.
Paraic McGrath (Fr., Galway, Ireland) earned a T-58th position with his +6 222 finish, while
Jeffrey Nelson (Jr., Commerce City, Colo.) ended T-66th and +9 225.
Rounding out the field,
Archie Wyatt (So., Edinburgh, Scotland) placed T-84th overall and recorded a 13-over 229.
