PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team picked up their first win of the season at the Southern Colorado Open home event at Walking Stick Golf Club.
The Pack posted a team score of 576 to win the event by 10 strokes over Simon Fraser University (Canada) in the one day 36-hole event. The Pack closed the day with a second round of two under par to clinch the victory.
CSU Pueblo was led by their workhorse senior
Kylie Severin (Aurora, Colo./Vista Peak Prep), as the veteran won the event individually with a score of four under par and rounds of 69-71.
The Pack also had three more members finish in the top 10 individually as junior
Zoey Rodriguez (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo South) finished third individually with a score of one under and rounds of 72-71. Freshman
Lisa Ekberg (Kingsbacka, Sweeden) finished right behind Rodriguez with rounds of 74-71 to finish T4. Sophomore
Freya Constable (Edinburgh, Scotland/Boroghmuir) finished T9 with rounds of 75-73.
Junior
Anju Ogi (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) rounded out the top five for the Pack as she had impressive rounds of 76-75.
The Pack also had two individuals competing in the event. Freshman Delfin Feliz (Belfast, Northern Ireland) shot rounds of 80-80, while junior
Merielle Gojo (Cherry Hills Valley, Colo./Cherry Creek) shot 83-80.
UP NEXT FOR THE PACK
CSU Pueblo will get this next week off from competition as spring break is now underway. The Pack are back in action on April 1-2 in the desert as they head to Tucson, Ariz to compete in the West Texas A&M Desert Classic at Ventana Canyon Golf Club.
