Lessley and Dzubak Score Two Goals Each Against Hawks

PUEBLO, Colo. – Trailing just 7-4 at the half, Colorado State University Pueblo men's lacrosse was outscored 10-2 in the second half as the ThunderWolves fell 17-6 to Quincy University in non-conference action at ALG Stadium.

With the setback, the Pack falls to 0-6 on the season, while Quincy improved to 5-3 on the year.

Quincy led after the opening period of action, before the Pack scored two of the first three goals of the second period to pull within 4-3, but the Hawks would score three straight goals in a span of a little over four minutes to take a 7-3 lead before the Pack used a goal by sophomore attacker Andrew Dzubak (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Mount Saint Vincent) to cut QU's halftime lead to 7-4.

After freshman midfielder Gideon Butler (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) scored his first collegiate goal nearly three minutes into the third period to cut QU's lead to 7-5, the Hawks would score nine straight goals, including capping the third period with seven consecutive goals to take a 16-5 lead with 11:34 left in the game. The Pack stopped the run with a goal by junior midfielder Brett Woolcock (Humble, Texas/Atascocita) off an assist by sophomore attacker Kyle Parker (Hamilton, New Zealand/Northland College) with 9:42 left in the game. QU would cap the scoring about three-and-half minutes later to set the final margin.
