SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team turned in a 9th place finish at the Fujikura Invite in San Marcos, Calif. at Shadowridge Country Club.
The Pack posted a team score of 938 for ninth place, finishing six strokes back of eight place Point Loma. Host school Cal State San Marcos won the event with a team score of 901, finishing seven strokes ahead of UT Tyler.
Lisa Ekberg (Kingsbacka, Sweden) took home a top ten finish with a score of 228 (77-79-72) to lead the Pack, while
Kylie Severin (Aurora, Colo./Vista Peak Prep) finished T30 with a score of 234 (78-75-81) to complement Ekberg.
Freya Constable (Edinburgh, Scotland/Boroghmuir) finished T32 with a score of 235 (79-78-78), while
Zoey Rodriguez (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo South) finished T51 with a score of 241 (81-78-82), and
Anju Ogi (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) finished T62 with a score of 246 (81-82-83).

"I would say this first tournament was a success. We did all the right steps to prepare for this tournament, sometimes it just does not go our way all the time." Lim also said, "We worked hard on and off the golf course to be physically and mentally prepared for this week and the girls went in with full confidence."
Regarding their goals for the week, Lim said, "Our goal was to try and beat some regional teams which we did. Every tournament these girls play in only gains them experience for the next one. I am proud of them; we are only getting started."
