BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. (February 28, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf team finished play at the Battle in the Desert played over three rounds at Rams Hill Golf Club in Borrego Springs, California.
The Pack finished in 14th place out of 16 teams in the tournament and ended +40 over par and with scores of 305-300-299-904 in three rounds.
Florida Southern took home the team title and finished +3 867 and Simon Bjorken from Cal State Monterey Bay won the individual medalist and after finishing tied for first through 54 holes, Bjorken won on the second playoff hole against Mateo Quiroga of Georgia Southwestern.

Jeffrey Nelson (Jr., Commerce City, Colo.) finished T-30th overall at 7-over and carded scores of 75-75-73-223. Nelson improved his scores over the three-day outing and sank 11 birdies and one eagle shot on the par 5 11th hole in the first round.
Finishing 12-over and T-53rd,
Colt Tenpenny (So., Fulshear, Tex.), along with the rest of the field, battled adverse conditions and scored 228 (77-73-78) on the course.
Tenpenny recorded eight birdies and an eagle.
Ending one stroke back,
Archie Wyatt (So., Edinburgh, Scotland) ended +13 229 and his best outing came during the second round when he scored a 1-over 73. He finished with seven birdies including four during the third round on Wednesday.
Paraic McGrath (Fr., Galway, Ireland) placed T-64th and ended 17-over par. He tallied ten birdies over three rounds.
Rounding out the field,
Jamie Roberts (Sr., Kirkcaldy, Scotland) finished T-67th overall and carded a +18 234 while recording seven birdies.
Up next, CSU Pueblo will have little time to rest before heading back on the road next week and compete at the Desert Classic, set to take place March 3-5 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.
