COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 6, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team's season came to an end on Wednesday following a 5-1 loss at University of Colorado Colorado Springs in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season finale on a frigid day at Mountain Lion Stadium.
CSU Pueblo finishes the season 4-10-4 overall and 3-7-2 in RMAC play under first-year Head Coach John Constable.
Sydney Lasater (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) returned to a familiar pitch and scored the lone goal for the ThunderWolves.
Carlia Johnson (Jr., The Valley, Anguilla) was credited with an assist on the play.
In the game, CSU Pueblo finished with seven shots led by two shots each from
Cortney Cowles (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Lorena Vargas-Galvan (So., Mexico City, Mexico).
The Mountain Lions scored two goals in the first half and three more were added in the second period.
CSU Pueblo surrendered a season-high 27 shots from the Mountain Lions and gave up nine corner kicks.
At halftime, the Pack made two shots and the defense battled off nine shots.
In the second half, CSU Pueblo earned one corner and pressured UCCS midway in the period.
The ThunderWolves attack was rewarded in 72nd minute on the Lasater goal.
At the net,
Elaina Leitner (Fr., Longmont, Colo.) gave up two goals and made two saves in nearly 35 minutes of action.
Jacqueline Dominguez (Sr., Watkins, Colo.) return between the posts and allowed three goals and made four saves in 55 minutes.
