ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Swimming Team concluded the weekend with a 1-1 record in the Adams - Pueblo - Mines Double Dual, defeating Adams State in the finale.
The ThunderWovles fell to Colorado School of Mines 137-58, but responded nicely, defeating the Grizzlies 145-45 in commanding fashion.
The Pack began the weekend with a nice performance from the 200-yard medley relay, consisting of
Carla Sanchez Guareno (Tarragona, Spain),
Olivia Dannhaus (Sheridan, Wyo./Sheridan),
Paola C Wu (San Pedro Sula, Honduras/Indianapolis), and
Laci Denn (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Mainland Regional), as the squad finished third in the event with a final time of 1:52.25.
Andrea Gallardo Perez (Merida, Mexico/Iowa Central), performed nicely in the 1000-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 12:18.34 to finish in third place.
Sanchez Guareno transitioned from medley relay to an individual event, as the Spaniard competed in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing third in the event with a time of 2:03.55.
Margaret Laborde Lagrave (Sacramento, Calif./Saint Francis) led the ThunderWolves in the fast spring event, the 50-yard freestyle, picking up a third place finish in the event with a time of 27.08.
C Wu dominated in the 400-yard IM, winning the event, narrowly winning the event with a time of 4:50.64.
Alexandra Dutkowiak (Wroclaw, Poland) finished in third place in the daunting 500-yard freestyle event, swimming a time of 5:51.40.
Dannhaus led the way for the Pack in her best event, the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing third with a time of 1:10.25.
