No. 9 ThunderWolves welcomes CCU for RMAC battle

PUEBLO, Colo. (October 12, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team, ranked No. 9 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll, will welcome Colorado Christian to town for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match-up on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. at Art & Loraine Gonzales Stadium.

CSU Pueblo sits at second place in this week's NCAA South Central Region and are behind UCCS in the rankings.

The Pack are back in action after posting two road wins last week at MSU Denver and Colorado School of Mines.

For their efforts, Caio Oliveira (Sr., Espigao d'Oeste, Brazil) and Ignatius DeMark (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) earned RMAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

Oliveira scored two more goals and continues to lead the league in points (19) assists (7). The midfielder enters Sunday tied for first in goals with six scores this year.

DeMark earns recognition after he earned an assist in the win at Mines. For the week, DeMark and Co., held opponents to eleven shots and five SOG.

At the net, Ruben Volkert (Gr., Baden-Württemberg, Germany) earned both victories and combined for five saves and allowed two goals.Thursday at MSU Denver, Volkert made one save and faced 9 shots and two SOG. He followed that with another stellar outing Sunday at Mines. Against the Orediggers, Volkert made one save and faced seven shots and three SOG. 

Series History
CSU Pueblo and Colorado Christian have a long history within the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the ThunderWolves hold a 21-6 record dating back to 2007. 

In Sight for the Pack

The ThunderWolves remain at home next week and will take on Adams State on Thursday and Fort Lewis on Sunday, both games at Gonzales Stadium.
