COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (January 24, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team was picked to finish in seventh place according to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced Wednesday by league officials.
At the helm, CSU Pueblo Head Coach
Bianca Duran and the ThunderWolves begin the season February 2-4 at the South Central Regional Challenge in Los Lunas, New Mexico. At the tournament, CSU Pueblo will face-off against Eastern New Mexico, Simon Fraser, West Texas, Texas Permian Basin and Western New Mexico.
In the polls, Colorado Christian was picked to finish first in the conference and earned eight first-place votes, followed by MSU Denver (2 first-place votes), and Colorado Mesa (2 first-place votes). Regis was picked fourth, followed by Mines, UCCS, and CSU Pueblo.
Rounding out the field is Chadron State, Fort Lewis, New Mexico Highlands, Adams State and Black Hills State.
CSU Pueblo opens the home portion of their schedule on Feb. 14 against Northwest Oklahoma State and will start RMAC play the following week at Regis.
