COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 5, 2023) - Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer senior defender
Shjon Andrews (Longmont, Colo.) was named the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week of the 2023 season, announced Tuesday by league officials.
Andrews helped lead No. 2 CSU Pueblo to a 1-0-1 weekend to start the season. He recorded one goal and fired six shots and landed three on frame in a full 180 minutes on the pitch.
In Thursday's season opener at Dallas Baptist, Andrews scored his first goal of the season during the 71st minute which proved as the game-winner in a 3-2 Pack victory. Andrews totaled three shots and two shots on goal in a full 90 minutes of action.
Saturday at University of Texas at Tyler, Andrews fired three more shots and another SOG in the Pack's 3-3 draw against University of Texas at Tyler.
The ThunderWolves remain on the road this week for an early season and pivotal Top 25 match-up on Thursday at St. Mary's. The Pack will wrap their road trip on Saturday at St. Edward's.
