KANSAS CITY, Mo. (September 19, 2023) - Following an unbeaten weekend to start the home schedule, the Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team climbed one spot to No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.
The ThunderWolves picked up a pair of nonconference wins in their home opening weekend versus No. 13 Rogers State and Oklahoma Christian.
In two games, CSU Pueblo's offense scored seven goals en route to a third clean sheet victory, Sunday against OCU.
Five players scored for the Pack includingÂ
Gabriel Campora (Sr., Saltillo, Mexico) scoring three goals along with scores fromÂ
Shjon Andrews (Sr., Longmont, Colo.),
Ricardo Schroeder Jr., (Sr., Parana, Brazil),
Joseph Baston (Sr., Newport, Wales) and
Jake Feiner (Gr., Erie, Colo.).
Thursday against a third ranked opponent of the season, the ThunderWolves controlled the game after conceding a goal early in the first half, before responding with three goals to come away with the 3-1 win.
On Sunday versus Oklahoma Christian, the Pack earned another clean sheet victory and scored three goals in the first half, en route to a 4-nil victory.
This week, the ThunderWolves go back on the road and will play a pair of nonconference games Thursday at Mines and Sunday at UCCS.
