LAKEWOOD, Colo. (September 10, 2023) - The No. 15 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf team made its fall debut in the first round at The Writz at Mile High and sit in 3rd place out of nine teams, led by freshman
Paraic McGrath (Galway, Ireland) who sits third overall on the individual leaderboard.
As a team, the Pack scored 15-over 375 and in round one, McGrath hit five birdies on the day and finished 1-under 71.
Colorado School of Mines leads overall and shot +3 363, followed by Colorado Christian who posted a +11 371 score.
The ThunderWolves registered 14 birdies including an eagle shot landed by
Tyler Tyson (Jr., Arvada, Colo.) on a par 4 15th hole.
Archie Wyatt (So., Edinburgh, Scotland) is T-11 overall after scoring a +3 75 and sinking two birdies.
Tyson and
Colt Tenpenny (So., Fulshear, Tex.) both finished +4 76, good for T-18.
Tyson earned two birdies and Tenpenny with two birdies, one on each the front and back nine.
Jamie Roberts (Sr., Kinross, Scotland) finished with a strong back nine after scoring 40 and 37 through 18 holes and is T-27 at +5 77.
Jeffrey Nelson (Jr., Commerce City, Colo.) ended one stroke behind Roberts and is T-35.
Playing as an individual,
Callum Kenneally (Fr., Duns, Scotland) shot a +8 80 and is T48 overall.
Round two is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning.
