BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (March 12, 2023) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team earned a series split on the road against Fort Lewis, dropping the first game Sunday, 7-2 before rebounding for a 9-6 win in the series finale at Bloomfield HS in New Mexico.

The ThunderWolves were led by Marissa Robertson (Fr., Rocklin, Calif.) with three hits and five RBI. Robertson hit her team-leading fourth homerun of the season in the third inning of game two for the Pack.

CSU Pueblo's offense recorded 12 hits in the two games including five extra-base hits.

In the first game, the Pack totaled four hits and left three runners on base. Robertson highlighted the game when she hit a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence to get the Pack within one run, 2-1.

Seaerra Fuentes Arellano (Sr., Ewa Beach, Hawai'i) accounted for the Pack's second run with an RBI single in the fifth inning.

In the circle, Robertson was tagged with the loss after she allowed four runs, three earned and six free passes. She falls to 2-4 on the year.

In the series finale, Caitlyn Cole (Fr., Merced, Calif.) had a breakout game and recorded three hits including her first homerun of her career during the fifth inning.

Robertson came through in the third inning and hit a three-run bomb on the first pitch thrown to give the ThunderWolves a 4-3 lead.

In the fifth, Cole led off the frame with a solo shot and later Robertson stepped in and hit an RBI-double.

The next batter, Ashley Tosh (So., Fremont, Calif.) reached on a fielder's choice and would come around to score on a throwing error by FLC.

In the circle, Lucy Carney (So., Lakewood, Colo.) improved her record to 5-4 after throwing a complete game and allowed six runs and scattered nine hits.

CSU Pueblo (8-15, 3-13 RMAC) returns home and begins a six-game homestand starting Wednesday against Fort Hays State in nonconference doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at Rawlings Sports Complex.
