ThunderWolves take on Fort Lewis in New Mexico

BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (March 10, 2023) – The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team will finish a two-week hiatus from its home turf with another Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series on the road and will begin a four-game series against Fort Lewis College on a neutral field starting at Noon on Saturday at Bloomfield High School in New Mexico.

CSU Pueblo is back on the diamond after dropping four games at MSU Denver.

Offensively, the ThunderWolves are led by Ashley Tosh (So., Fremont, Calif.) continues to lead with a .410 average and freshmen Caitlyn Cole (Merced, Calif.) and Madelyn Huerta (Azusa, Calif.) each lead the team with 18 and 17 hits, respectively.

Lucy Carney (So., Lakewood, Colo.) leads the pitching staff with a 3-2 record and a 5.15 ERA. Jacelynn Trujillo (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) leads the staff with 27 strikeouts on the season.

SETTING THE STAGE

Last season, CSU Pueblo went 2-2 at home against Fort Lewis and won the first game on both days of the doubleheader at Rawlings Sports Complex.

OPPONENT CAPSULES

Fort Lewis Skyhawks (6-13, 4-8 RMAC)

            Last time on the field: Fort Lewis went 1-3 in a road series at Chadron State. The Skyhawks are led offensively by Alex Tenorio with a .459 average. In the circle, FLC is guided by Amiee Shanks (4-3, 4.74 ERA).
