Pack softball begins 2023 campaign at South Central Regional Tournament

LOS LUNAS, N.M. (February 3, 2023) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo softball team will open the 2023 season campaign with a four-game nonconference schedule at the South Central Regional Tournament, hosted by Western New Mexico at the Los Lunas Sports Complex.

The Bianca Duran-led ThunderWolves will face Western New Mexico and Texas Permian Basin on Saturday and will take on Simon Fraser and West Texas on Sunday.

The Pack begin the trek Saturday at 10 a.m. against the tournament-host Mustangs of WNMU. The ThunderWolves will stay on the diamond for a 12:30 p.m. match-up with UTPB.

Sunday the ThunderWolves will play SFU at 9 a.m. and WTAMU at 11 a.m.

The ThunderWolves return several key returners from a season ago and will be led by three seniors on this year's squad. Jill Bishop (Brighton, Colo.), Seaerra Fuentes Arellano (Ewa Beach, Hawai'i) and Anna Novak-Palomar (Pueblo, Colo.).

CSU Pueblo has seven freshman who will look to make an immediate impact.

The Pack opens the home portion of the schedule next week against Western New Mexico.
