GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (November 5, 2023) - The No. 15 ranked and 3-seed Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team advanced to its third consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship match after going on the road and defeating #21 and 2-seed Colorado Mesa 1-0 on Sunday at Community Hospital Unity Field.
Pack senior midfielder
Matthew Coleman (Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK) scored the only goal of the match during the 52' after taking a deflected ball from a corner kick and fired a top-shelf shot into the back of the net.
"Great performance from everyone today," said CSU Pueblo Head Coach
Oliver Twelvetrees. "The mentality of this group has been amazing, we are committed to each other and our goals. Matt was immense again today and it was fitting he scored the game winner. We limited a talented team to very few opportunities and created some good moments offensively.
Kenshin Uneo (Sr., Hyogo, Japan) was impressive winning the midfield battle that helped protect our excellent defense. Looking forward to our third RMAC final in a row."
CSU Pueblo won the game and the shots battle, firing 15 shots including nine in the first half.
Gabriel Campora (Sr., Saltillo, Mexico) led all players with three shots and four other Pack players recorded two shots apiece.

Holding the one score lead, the Pack played strategic and passed the ball around the pitch, letting the field open up before they would start their offensive attack.
Colorado Mesa was able to get off back-to-back shots starting in the 77th minute and did not record a shot on goal until less than a minute showed on the clock.
Playing in his second postseason match of his career,
Ryan Nun (Fr., Broomfield, Colo.) made two saves against nine shots from the Mavericks to earn the clean sheet.
