COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 30, 2023) - Colorado State University Pueblo wrestling was picked to finish 6th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after the release of the 2023-24 RMAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
CSU Pueblo garnered 29 points in the poll.Â
Adams State was picked as the favorites to win the league title and earned 58 points and 4 first-place votes.
In second place, Colorado Mesa picked up 52 points and two first-place votes, closely followed by Western Colorado with 49 total points and two first-place votes.
Also scoring one first-place vote, Chadron State was picked fourth and earned 45 points.
Ahead of the ThunderWolves, Colorado School of Mines received 42 points.
Rounding out the field, San Francisco State (23 points), New Mexico Highlands (14 points) and Simon Fraser (12 points).
Returning this season for the ThunderWolves are key veterans,
Ben Gould (Sr., Canyon Country, Calif.),
Elijah Valdez (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Cyruss Meeks (Jr., Casper, Wyo.).
Also looking to make an impact are starters
Michael Atencio (R-So., Rye, Colo.) and
Tytus Coombs (R-So., Meeker, Colo.).
The ThunderWolves will compete at home five times this season beginning January 26 versus Western.
The season gets underway Nov. 18 when the Pack travel to compete at the Nebraska-Kearney Holiday Inn Open.
