PUEBLO, Colo. (Sept. 20, 2022) - The No. 14 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf team won its second consecutive event of the season in dominating fashion, winning the Farmers Insurance Sam Proal Invite with a team score of 42-under par 822 and finished ahead of the competition by 23 strokes over three rounds at the Walking Stick Golf Course.
The ThunderWolves had all of their players finish within the top 15 and was led by
Matt Millar finishing atop the leaderboard and registered a 12-under 204.
Millar totaled a 67-67-70 in three rounds and included 13 birdies and one eagle shot. His tournament included 37 holes for par.
Placing second overall,
Jamie Roberts ended 1-stroke behind Millar at 11-under and turned in the best third round score on the day 5-under 67.
Liam Duncan ended in fourth place on the board and tallied a 9-under par 207.
Finished T-7th,
Jeff Nelson registered a 5-under 211 (67-71-73) during the two day event.
Landing in a T-12th place,
Colton Tenpenny shot a 2-under on the day and went 1-under in the tournament.
CSU Pueblo also played a B-team that placed sixth overall and was led by
Tyler Tyson who finished 4-under par and went even par during the third round.
Archie Wyatt placed T-26th and shot a 69 3-under par in Tuesday's round three and
Evan Smith ended T-44th and went +11 in the event and scored a +1 73 on day two.
The ThunderWolves will have a couple of weeks off before returning to the course Oct. 10-11 and compete at MSU Texas at the Wichita Falls Country Club.
