Pack finish second in men's and women's race at Roadrunners Invite

DENVER, Colo. (Sept. 17, 2022) – CSU Pueblo's men's and women's cross country teams both finished top three in their respective races this weekend at Washington Park with each team taking home a second place finish. Junior Richie Roberds led the men's team as the top finisher and senior Claire Pauley led the women's team once again in her second straight race.
 
Men's 7K | Results
A team effort of 39 points was what the men finished with, only 11 points behind victor Colorado School of Mines, and in their effort had seven top 25 finishers.
Steven Goldy of Colorado School of Mines took home the top finish at 23:45.60, but it was Roberds of the Pack with a fifth place finish at 24:08.60 that led the men's team.

Top finishers for the pack included Daniel Beam in seventh place at 24:17.70, Mathew Roberds in 10th place at 24:21.10, Matisse Virey in 14th place at 24:28.8 and Reece Sharman-Newell in 17th place at 24:39.50.

Other top 50 performances from the men were Lucas Westbrook in 21st place at 24:46.90, Kaleb Tipton in 22nd place at 24:49.30, Cole Munoz in 36th place at 25:21.60, Jack Dickson in 37th place at 25:22.60 and Joseph Harker in 48th place at 25:47.90.

10 of the 11 men for the team placed with all 10 being in the top 50 and only two schools scoring under 100 points with the pack being one of them.
 
Women's 6K | Results
The women's cross country team of CSU Pueblo had a good showing as well in their race with 65 points and five ladies finishing in the top 25.

For the second event in a row Pauley finished with the fastest time for the women. She finished in seventh place at 22:12.60.

A quad of other ladies finished in the top 25 as well and included: Yasmine Hernandez in seventh place at 22:23.70, Margot Thomas-Gatel in 14th place at 22:45.80, Helen Braybrook in 15th place at 22:52.40 and Bethany Donnelly in 19thplace at 23:09.70. 

Hale Schmitz took 39th place at 23:54.10, Taylor Holland took 44th place at 24:07.80 and Jadyn Herron took 48th place at 24:14.10 to have top 50 finishes in addition.

The Pack finished their day with Elodie Herbert in 55th place at 24:22.90, Sarah Renberg in 58th place at 24:31.90 and Crystal Armijo in 60th place at 24:33.50.

All 11 women placed on the team and accounted for points in their standings.

The Pack look to continue where they left off when they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Chili Pepper Invitational on September 30th hosted by the University of Arkansas.
