DENVER, Colo. (Sept. 11, 2022) - The No. 14-ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf team sits tied for 6th place after the first day at The Writz at Mile High at Bear Creek Golf Club in Denver.
The ThunderWolves totaled 365 points and finished +5 on the day.
West Texas is in first place after the first round and posted a -6 354 team score.
For the ThunderWolves,
Matt Millar is tied for 5th place and carded a -1 (71) first round. Millar earned two birdies through the first nine and totaled three more on the back nine to keep pace with the four players that ended the day -4 68.
Liam Duncan went 1-under 71 and recorded four total birdies putting him T-11th overall.
Sitting T-31st,
Jamie Roberts earned a +2 74 and shot two birdies and hit one of three total eagles the ThunderWolves scored.
Jeffrey Nelson sits within the top-40 and hit +3 75.
Evan Smith and
Tyler Tyson both hit eagles on their back nine and sit T-48th and T-60th, respectively.
Play was halted due to darkness with one group still left to complete the first round. Play will resume at 9 a.m. and the second round to follow.
