CLEVELAND (June 16, 2022) - The final Learfield Directors' Cup standings for Division II locked Colorado State University Pueblo in at 24th-place in the nation, marking the highest ranking for ThunderWolves Athletics following the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. The 24th-place finish marks the highest in school history after logging 478.80 points across the three seasons.

Grand Valley State University took the Cup with 1013.00 points while CSU Pueblo was the fourth-best finish for RMAC schools behind sixth-place Colorado School of Mines, ninth-place Colorado Mesa and 16th-placed Adams State University.

The spring season saw the Men's Golf program as the largest gainer for points, as the team consisting of Andrew Ni, Jamie Roberts, Matt Millar, Liam Duncan and Jeffrey Nelson led the ThunderWolves Golf to its second-consecutive NCAA National Championships appearance and racked up 72.75 points to go toward the CSU Pueblo efforts. The five golfers were able to card the second-best score across the opening three rounds and ultimately fell in the medal round.

Men's Track and Field notched another 57.8 points for Pack Athletics thanks to the team's superb performance at the NCAA National Championships. Nathan Hood, Reece Sharman-Newell, Tyrell Smith and Carl Schmidt combined for an eighth-place finish in the 4x400m Relay after the four-man squad raced its way to the third-fastest finish in school history.

The 800m race saw Hood place fourth, Sharman-Newell race his way to fifth, and Kaleb Tipton finish seventh. Each of the three picked up All-American efforts thanks to their National Championships Finals finishes.

Rounding out the men's efforts were two perennial All-Americans living up to their names. Nate Miller hurled his shot put 18.67 meters to seal a fifth-place finish while Justin Jenks logged himself a 18.58 meter throw, good enough for a sixth-place finish directly behind his teammate. The Pack men tallied six total All-Americans at the NCAA National Championships.

The Women's Track and Field team rounded out the spring efforts for the Learfield Directors' Cup. The women's squad was highlighted by Yasmine Hernandez's come-from-behind National Championship win in the 1500m run where she ran the fastest time in school history.

Her teammate Hailey Streff was also able to log herself another All-American honor, also in the 1500, as she finished seventh-place. The two milers were able to boost the Pack's Cup total with 51 points.

The 181.55 points in the spring season allowed the Pack to hold their spot in the top-25. The year-topper that was the spring season went with the most school's successful athletic year in the history of the Directors' Cup.

The fall featured 129 points gathered after men's soccer earned its first NCAA National Tournament berth, volleyball punched its first National Tournament ticket since 1996 and women's cross country placed 20th at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

In the winter, the Pack built upon its fall success with NCAA berths for Women's Basketball, Ruben Garcia from Wrestling, Men's Indoor Track and Field and Women's Indoor Track and Field. The Distance Medley Relay for the Women's Track and Field squad logged a National Championship to highlight Pack winter efforts.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
