PORTLAND, Ore. (May 9, 2022) – The Colorado State University Pueblo track & field programs competed in the Portland Twilight over the weekend as the teams gear up for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The ThunderWolves raced four athletes in total and walked away with four top-five finishes.
Reece Sharman-Newell (Fr.) and
Kaleb Tipton (So., Lawton, Okla.) both competed in a heavily competitive 800-meter run which consisted of 41 athletes. Sharman-Newell topped the competition with a first-place finish with a time of 1:48.77 while Tipton finished fourth with a time of 1:51.
The women's side of the 800-meter run consisted of 26 athletes where
Yasmine Hernandez (Gr., Johnstown, Colo.) placed second with a time of 2:04.62 and
Helen Braybroook (Fr.) tabbed fifth place with a time of 2:10.54.
The ThunderWolves will return to action one last time on May 15th at the ThunderBowl for the CSU Pueblo Last Chance Open.
