ALLENDALE, Mich. (May 26, 2022) – Yasmine Hernandez (Gr., Johnstown, Colo.) and Hailey Streff (Sr., Madison, S.D.) advanced to the finals in the 1500-meter run for the Colorado State University Pueblo women's track and field program after day one of the NCAA DII National Championships.
 
The duo dominated the race from start to finish as Streff led for the first 1100 meters before Hernandez made a push in the final 400. Hernandez finished first in the heat with Streff second and the sixth (4:23.80) and seventh (4:23.89) fastest times, respectively, heading into the finals.  
 
Tyrell Smith (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) missed qualifying for the finals by nearly a second as the freshman finished 14th overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.06 seconds.
