PUEBLO, Colo. (April 30, 2022) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team wrapped its 2022 season campaign after dropping three-of-four against University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Senior Weekend at Rawlings Sports Complex.

Bianca Duran and her staff and players celebrated the four seniors on the team who played in their last home games as members of the Pack.
Isabel Griego (Sr., Loveland, Colo.),
Taylor Strupp (Sr., San Tan Valley, Ariz.),
Taylor Puga (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) and
Hannah Hackney (Sr., Erie, Colo.) each were honored after Saturday's DH.
Friday, the Pack won the series opener 5-4 behind a strong performance in the circle by
Sophia Lisher (So., Gilbert, Ariz.) who tossed a complete game and allowed four runs, two earned, and ended with five strikeouts.
Offensively,
Seaerra Fuentes Arellano (Jr., Ewa Beach, Hawai'i) collected one hit in the second inning and tallied two RBI. Griego smacked her first career homerun during the second inning for the Pack and built a 3-0 lead.
Katelynn Ralston (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) also hit a solo shot during the sixth inning and
Tori Cordova (Fr., Pueblo West, Colo.) capped the scoring after stealing home.
In the second game Friday, despite outhitting UCCS by a 9-4 clip, the ThunderWolves dropped a 3-2 decision.
The Pack's runs came on a two-run single to center by
Delaney Barela (So., Pueblo, Colo.).
As a team the ThunderWolves left nine runners on base.
In Saturday's final doubleheader of the season, the Pack tallied runs over the last five innings but was unable to complete the comeback in a 8-6 loss in game one. In the game Fuentes Arellano hit a solo homerun in the sixth and in the last inning, Puga earned a RBI off a single through the left side.
In the series finale, the Pack carried a 5-1 lead through four innings and a 10-run sixth inning by UCCS put the game away.
The top two hitters in the lineup,
Raelynn Rogers (Fr., Surprise, Ariz.) and Griego accounted for five of the Pack's eleven hits. Puga also had a multi-hit game for the Pack.
CSU Pueblo (21-24, 17-23 RMAC) close out the first season under the direction of Coach Duran.
