PUEBLO, Colo. (April 3, 2022) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's tennis team dropped their second dual in as many days as the Pack fell 7-0 to Colorado Mesa at the Pueblo City Park.
In singles,
Tilly Blasdale (So., Dover, United Kingdom) fell 6-0, 6-1 to Halle Romero while
Katherine Ambrose (Jr., Bradford Woods, Pa.) lost to Macy Richards by the same score but in reverse order.
Marissa Sena (So., Las Vegas, N.M.) was not able to win a game against Julianna Campos as Sena fell 6-0, 6-0 while
Roma Cordova (So., Belen, N.M.) put up a fight at the No. 5 spot against Kenna Kelley but lost 6-2, 6-1.
Sonrisa Bustamante (So., Pueblo, Colo.) lost 6-1, 6-0 to Paige Furin.
While all of that was going on,
Kali Hamilton (Sr., Grapevine, Texas) was busy battling against CMU's Maike Waldburger. Hamilton won the first game 7-5 before losing 6-2 in the second. In the deciding game, Hamilton put up another fight but ultimately lost 10-3.
In doubles, Hamilton and Blasdale squared off against Richards and Makenna Livingston where the Mavericks won 6-3. Ambrose and Sena teamed up against Waldburger and Romero while
Alyssa Wells (So., Converse, Texas) and
Malaya Pendon (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) teamed up against Campos and Lauren Thomas where the ThunderWolves fell 6-1 in both matches.
The ThunderWolves will square off with the Mavericks for a rematch next weekend up in Grand Junction, Colo.
