GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (April 2, 2022) – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's and women's track & field teams combined for five first-place finishes and four NCAA qualifying marks at the Maverick Open hosted by Colorado Mesa.
The ThunderWolves were highlighted by
Nathan Hood (Sr., St. Davids, Grenada) who snagged a first-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.40 which is the eleventh fastest time on NCAA provisional qualifying list this season.
Carl Schmidt (So., Wiesbaden, Germany) grabbed the second first-place finish for the Pack in the 400-meter hurdles after crossing in 53.71 seconds.
Nate Miller (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) had himself an eventful afternoon with a first-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 18.66 meters (fifth farthest mark in CSU Pueblo program history), a fourth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 49.24 meters (third farthest mark in CSU Pueblo program history), and finally a fourth-place finish in the hammer with a mark of 51.57 meters (fourth farthest mark in CSU Pueblo program history).
Justin Jenks (So., Helena, Mont.) was also busy, threw for a new program record in the hammer throw after taking second-place with a mark of 54.66 meters. Jenks also took second in the shot put (17.71 meters) and eleventh in the discus at 43.46 meters.

- Nigel Mitchell (So., Red Bank, N.J.) second place 200-meter dash 21.12 (third fastest time in CSU Pueblo program history, eleventh fastest time on NCAA provisional qualifying list).
- Nikolaus Franzmair (Fr.) second-place 3k-steeplechase 9:45.34.
- Kaleb Tipton (So., Lawton, Colo.) third-place 800-meter run 1:52.23.
- Cole Munoz (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) sixth-place 10k-meter run 31:36.48 (ninth fastest time in CSU Pueblo program history).
- Terrel Johnson (So., Fountain, Colo.) ninth-place high jump 1.90 meters (tied fourth highest jump in CSU Pueblo program history), fifth-place long jump 6.70 meters.
- Daniel Beam (Fr.) 18th-place 10k-meter run 33:32.34.
- David Parker (Fr.) tenth-place 13.78 meters, tenth-place discus 44.36.
- 4x100 relay second-place 41.12 (third fastest time in CSU Pueblo program history).
- Matthew Roberds (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) 25th-place 1500-meter run 4:06.71.
- Jack Dickson (Fr.) 26th-place 1500-meter run 4:07.52.
Jenna McKinley (Sr., Mosca, Colo.) snagged the lone first-place on the women's side in the shot put with a mark of 14.00 meters which is good for the sixth farthest mark in CSU Pueblo program history and seventh in the hammer with a mark of 44.02 meters.
- Yasmine Hernandez (Gr., Johnstown, Colo.) second-place 1500-meter run 4:29.90 (third fastest time in CSU Pueblo program history, fourth fastest time in NCAA provisional qualifying list).
- Mikayla Jones (Fr., Aurora, Colo.) second-place high jump 1.65 meters (tied for the third highest jump in CSU Pueblo program history), fifth-place triple jump 10.70 meters, 21st-place 200-meter dash 26.94.
- Hailey Streff (Sr., Madison, S.D.) third-place 800-meter run 2:12.07 (eleventh fastest time on NCAA provisional qualifying list).
- Julia Schwarzinger (Fr.) third-place 200-meter dash 24.92, sixth fastest in CSU Pueblo program history.
- Heather Graham (Sr., Hugo, Colo.) third-place shot put 12.99 meters (tenth farthest mark in CSU Pueblo program history), fifth-place hammer 44.66 meters, eighth-place discus 33.92 meters.
- Elizabeth James (Fr.) sixth-place discus 35.14 meters, eleventh-place hammer 35.05 meters.
- Helen Braybrook (Fr.) seventh-place 1500-meter run 4:41.44.
- Taylor Holland (Fr., Alamosa, Colo.) 12th-place 800-meter run 2:18.75.
- Erin Case (So., Parker, Colo.) 14th-place 400-meter dash 1:01.93.
- Margot Thomas-Gatel (Fr., Ile-de-France, France) 18th-place 1500-meter run 5:03.59.
- 4x400 relay second-place 3:50.42 seventh fastest time in CSU Pueblo program history.
- Emily Dibonas (So., Thornton, Colo.) 20th-place 200-meter dash 26.82, ninth-place 400-meter hurdles 1:13.42.
- Maddie Fornstrom (Fr., Pine Bluffs, Wyo.) 26th-place 200-meter dash 28.60.
The ThunderWolves will be back in action on Wednesday, April 13th, in Azusa, Calif. for the Bryan Clay Invite with events stretching through Friday afternoon.
