PUEBLO, Colo. (April 21, 2022) - Colorado State University Pueblo's
Ashley Tosh (Fr., Fremont, Calif.) and
Andrew Ni (Sr., Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Mobile Record Shredders.
Tosh helped to lead Pack softball to a four-game series sweep of New Mexico Highlands. Tosh batted 5-for-9 (.556 average) at the plate and hit her first career homerun in walk-off fashion in Saturday's 10-2 (6 inn.) victory in game two.
She ended the weekend with six runs, 7 RBI, eight total bases and two walks. Tosh posted a .889 slugging percentage and a .583 on-base mark. She was perfect defensively on four putouts.
Tosh and Co., totaled 12 stolen bases on the weekend and now have 88 stolen bases this season, the most in the RMAC and puts the Pack T-23rd in Division II.
On the men's side, Ni paced the ThunderWolves to its second straight RMAC title after leading the field over two rounds and finishing second individually overall.
Ni carded the lowest score in round one with a 68 (-4) which included six birdies, three of which came on his final three holes.
The senior followed with a 69 (-3) in round two, adding five more birdies before cappign off his final round with a 71 (-1) and a final score of 208.
The Pack softball team hits the road this week for a four-game set at Adams State starting Saturday at noon at ASU Softball Field in Alamosa.
The men's golf squad has a couple of weeks off and will prepare for the NCAA Division II West/South Central Super Regional, May 5-7, hosted by CSU Pueblo at the Pueblo Country Club.
