GOLDEN, Colo. (April 20, 2022) – The Colorado State University Pueblo track and field programs hit the road to compete in the Kit Mayer Classic for its final outdoor meet before the postseason.
Carl Schmidt (So., Wiesbaden, Germany) paced the ThunderWolves with a first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.61 seconds that tabbed him the seventh fastest time in CSU Pueblo history.
Nigel Mitchell (So., Red Bank, N.J.) clocked a 21.54 in the 200-meter dash and placed first while teammate
Nathan Hood (Sr., St. Davids, Grenada) also tabbed a first-place finish for the Pack in the 400-meter dash, topping the competition by more than half a second with a time of 47.90 seconds.
Other Pack Performances
- Andrew Cook (So., Tucson, Ariz.) 22.26 seconds in the 200-meter dash for 4th place.
- Elizabeth James (Fr.) – 37.47 meters in the discus for 7th place, 10.58 meters in the shot put for 8th place.
- Lucas Moran (Fr.) 43.88 meters in the hammer throw for 9th place.
- David Parker (Fr.) – 13.90 meters in the shot put for 4th place.
- Margot Thomas-Gatel (Fr., Ile-de-France, France) 4:53.76 in the 1500-meter run for 6th place.
The meet concludes the ThunderWolves regular-season as the team gears up for the 2022 RMAC Outdoor Championships, which will begin Friday, April 29. The conference championships are slated for a three-day event and will be hosted by Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D.
