GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (February 26, 2022) - Colorado State University Pueblo senior wrestler
Ruben Garcia (Selma, Calif.) punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships after finishing in third place at the 165 pound bracket, to lead two others placing in the top six.
Garcia went 4-1 on the day and posted four wins by decision including a 4-2 win over Adams State's Samuel Loera in the third place match to secure his spot in the NCAA Championships to be held March 11-12 in St. Louis, Missouri.
In the 125 pound bracket, the Pack's
Parker McBride (Sr., Duvall, Wash.) finished in fourth place and wrestled strong throughout the day, leading to a 6-1 defeat in the third place match against Colorado Mesa's Dawson Collins.
A strong performance in the 184 pound bracket from
Dominic Robles (So., Pueblo, Colo.) led to a sixth place finish after he posted a 1-3 record that included a 3-2 TB-1 loss against Colorado School of Mines' Anderson Salisbury.
Garcia will embark on his journey in the national tournament and learn of his bracket position in the coming days.
