Second half surge propels Pack over MSU Texas

Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. (November 11, 2022) - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's basketball team opened its 2022-23 season campaign in a big way, scoring a 79-59 victory over MSU Texas in the season opener. 

Five players scored in double-figures for the ThunderWolves, led by Elijah Moleon with 17 points. 

The Pack dominated the boards and the big men in the paint powered themselves into position to haul in several rebounds.

Guard Lian Ramiro poured in 13 points and was 8-of-9 from the charity stripe.

In his Pack debut, Makiah Morris scored ten points and Meekness Payne, along with De'Shaun Cooper both chipped in 13 points apiece.

At the half, CSU Pueblo held a 31-29 advantage and the offense turned it up a notch and had a 48-point second half.

The ThunderWolves opened up the game and went on a 8-0 run and built a 47-33 lead with 15:03 left in the game.

Moleon was responsible for seven straight points to help the Pack take the double-digit lead.

CSU Pueblo (1-0) will finish the opening weekend with a nonconference tilt Saturday against Cameron. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside Massari Arena.
