No. 11 CSU Pueblo close out regular season with shutout victory over MSU Denver

PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 23, 2022) - The No. 11 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team closed Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play with a 2-0 shutout victory over MSU Denver, Sunday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The ThunderWolves received goals from Shjon Andrews and Ricardo Schroeder Jr., both in the first half.

Andrews picked up his third point of the day on goal number two.

The defense played a big role in helping the team earn their tenth clean sheet victory of the season and held the Roadrunners to six shots.

For the match, CSU Pueblo ended with ten shots and six corners. The offense was led by two shots apiece from Andrews and Aden O'Hara.

In the net, Pack goalkeeper Nils Roth played full minutes and made three saves to earn the shutout.

With the win, coupled with a Colorado School of Mines victory, CSU Pueblo clinches the number two seed at the upcoming RMAC Tournament. The Pack will play and host the winner of the three-six match up which pits three-seed Westminster against six-seed Colorado Christian.

"Very impressive performance in difficult conditions," said Pack Head Coach Oliver Twelvetrees. "We had control of the game and were able to score two great goals at an important stage of the match against an excellent 10 win team. Our defense was magnificent again and for Shjon to come up with the goal and the assist just sums up his season."
