PUEBLO, Colo. (October 18, 2022) – The Colorado State University Pueblo swim and dive team took home a third place finish this Saturday upon the finish of hosting of a Quad Meet.
The meet included host CSU Pueblo, Western Colorado University, Southwest Minnesota State University and Adams State University.
CSU Pueblo gathered 253.5 points in their third place finish. Western Colorado with 600 points.
The one day competition saw 13 events occur and was started by the 400-yard medley relay. The Pack took fifth place in the first event and was led by a team of
Carla Sanchez Guareno,
Kristen Wolf,
Nalani Wess and
Makayla Seal to collect a final time of 4:16.94.
McKenna Hauber took home a first place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle as one of Pueblo's two top finishers on the day to anchor the Pack finishing at 11:21.51.
Markina Evdokimoff also placed top 10 for the Pack with a ninth place finish at 12:32.40.
The following event of the 50 yard freestyle had four women of the pack finishing and resulted in eighth place by
Aleksandra Dutkowiak at 26.23, 10
th place by Seal at 26.86, 13
th place by Wess at 28.10 and 14
thplace by
Ashley Sheppard at 28.80 to round out the team.
In the 100 yard breaststroke Hauber once again saw a high finish at fourth place with a final time of 1:12.30. Wolf also mustered a top 10 finish as she took eighth place finishing in 1:13.75.
Sanchez Guareno was the other top finisher of the Pack this weekend as she garnished a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle at 2:01.67. Dutkowiak came up close behind in third place with her time finishing at 2:02.99. Seal and Evdokimoff also placed in the event respectfully at 11
th and 12
th place with Seal finishing in 2:13.01 and Evdokimoff at 2:14.67.
The 200 yard IM once again featured Sanchez Guareno and Wolf finishing in the higher ranks as Sanchez Guareno placed fourth at 2:20.14 and Wolf in sixth place at 2:22.55.
Four members of the Pack also placed in the 100 yard freestyle with Dutkowiak leading them in fourth place at 57.12. Following her was Seal in seventh place at 59.17, Wess in 11
th place at 1:01.01 and Sheppard in 14
th place at 1:06.73.
The 100 yard backstroke only had two Pack participants, but was led by finishes in third place by Sanchez Guareno at 1:03.10 and Sheppard in ninth place at 1:21.21.
The 500 yard freestyle only had two participants as well and included a third place finish by Hauber at 5:39.19 and a tenth place finish by Evdokimoff at 6:08.03.
In the final individual event of the day, the 100 yard butterfly had both Wess and Wolf competing with Wess in fourth place at 1:05.66 and Wolf tied for sixth place at 1:06.84.
To finish off the day and conclude the meet, the 400 yard freestyle occurred and ended with a seventh place finish by the Pack who had a time of 4:02.49 and included a team of Hauber, Evdokimoff, Sheppard and Dutkowiak.

The women's swim and dive team find their next event this Friday, October 21
st, when they take on University of New Mexico head-to head-in Albuquerque. The event is slated for a 5 pm start and will be available for streaming.
