FAYETTVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 30, 2022) – After a weekend off from racing, the men's and women's cross country teams for CSU Pueblo were back in action
at Agri Park with each team finishing in the top ten at the event. The men's team took home a 10th
place finish and the women's team finished in 7th place in races that featured a field of institutions all the way from junior colleges to division one programs and had over 600 total athletes. Top finisher for the men's team was
Reece Sharman-Newell and top finisher for the women's team was
Margot Thomas-Gatel.
McDonnell Memorial Men's 8K | Results
The men's team finished with five in the Top 100 finishers in their 10
th place standing. They had 322 points overall and had an average time of 25:02 to their name. The top finisher, Sharman-Newell recorded a time of 24:43.7, good for 39th place.
Four other men finished in the top 100 and included
Cole Munoz in 56th
place at 24:58.0,
Mathew Roberds at 25:04.0,
Daniel Beam in 78th
place at 25:09.5 and
Richie Roberds in 88th with a time of 25:15.6.
Other contributors to the Pack's final score was
Kaleb Tipton in 101st place at 25:23.9 and
Kaleb Beloy in 104th place at 25:24.5.
The men's event had 356 runners place which signified a strong showing with all Pack men finishing in the top 30%.
Women's 5K | Results
The Pack women proved themselves this weekend and then some more as they garnished a 7th place finish and ended with three top 50 finishers. They finished with 242 points and were led by top finisher Thomas-Gatel who placed 29th with a time of 17:31.9.
The other two top 50 finishers for the Pack included
Yasmine Hernandez in 33rd place at 17:34.7 and
Claire Pauley in 47th place at 17:47.4.
Top 100 finishers for the women were
Bethany Donnelly in 59th place at 18:00.1 and
Helen Braybrook in 74th place at 18:14.7.
Jadyn Heron finished in 105th place at 18:34.8 and
Elodie Herbert finished in 115th place at 18:40.7 to round out the finish for the Pack.
Average time for the women's team came out to be 17:49 and placing 7 ladies in the top 50% of the race showcased their abilities in a field of 276.
