PUEBLO, Colo. (September 16, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team dropped its final nonconference match of the season, 2-1 versus Lubbock Christian Wednesday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
Pack freshman
Lainee Vujcich (Pueblo, Colo.) scored her first collegiate goal in the 81st minute for the ThunderWolves and cut into LCU's two goal lead with less than ten minutes left in regulation.
In the match, CSU Pueblo made eleven shots at the net and five landed on frame. As a team the Pack earned one first half corner kick against three by LCU.
Cara Siegel (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) led with three shots and one on goal and
Porsche Nieto (Jr., Thornton, Colo.) landed both of her shots on the net.
The teams battled to a scoreless tie through intermission and the ThunderWolves recorded six shots in the first half.
LCU scored the first goal of the match in the 55th minute on a penalty kick. The Lady Chaps' added a second goal in the 76' and was quickly responded by the Pack with the goal by Vujcich.
Allyson Sparks (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) earned an assist on the scoring play.

Nicole Genis (So., San Jose, Costa Rica) made three saves and faced 12 total shots.
CSU Pueblo (1-4-0) will have several days to rest and recover before returning to action on the road Sept. 24 at Fort Lewis and open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
