Anderson, Lutz and Watson named Academic All-RMAC First Team; 6 more make Honor Roll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 2, 2021) – Nine student-athletes from the Colorado State University Pueblo men's lacrosse team were listed on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Teams for their efforts in the classroom and on the field. Three were named Academic All-RMAC First Team, while six more landed on the honor roll. 
 
The Academic All-RMAC First Team members were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.

Senior Brance Anderson (D, Bulverde, Texas) was on the first team, as he owns a 3.92 GPA in Wildlife and Natural Resources. Sophomore Matt Lutz (M, Austin, Texas) gathered the first team nod with his 3.84 GPA in EXHPER (Recreation). Finally, senior Tavian Watson (LSM, Aurora, Colo.) was recognized on the first team with a 3.58 GPA in Political Science.

Watson has earned Academic All-RMAC First Team honors for three consecutive seasons, while Anderson and Lutz are now two-time first team members. 
 
The ThunderWolves recorded a 3-5 overall record in 2021 with a 2-2 conference mark. The Pack were seeded third in the RMAC Tournament, which was the team's third straight appearance in the league's postseason tournament. During the season, senior Michael DeMaio (D, Gambrills, Md.), Connor Owen (Fr., M, Keller, Texas) and Watson earned a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Dynamic Team of the Week. Additionally, Trenton Steele (R-Fr., A, Littleton, Colo.), Skyler Weathers (So., M, Ogden, Utah) and Logan Wells (Fr., A, Centennial, Colo.) were named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week and Garrett Breeling (So., G, Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was honored as RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Scored a goal and added an assist from the long stick midfield/defender position ... Totaled three ground balls and seven caused turnovers in the regular season finale win against Adams State.
