COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 23, 2021) - Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer goalkeeper
Nicole Genis (So., San Jose, Costa Rica) has been named
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and earned First Team All-RMAC honors, announced Friday by league officials.
Genis led the RMAC in shutouts (five) and is second in total saves (53). Genis transferred to Pueblo this last offseason from the New York Institute of Technology and instantly made an impact for the Thunderwolves.
The Pack this year is third in the conference in goals allowed per game (.58).Â
Joining Genis on the First Team are
Sabrina Bridwell (Jr., Longmont, Colo.) and
Litzy Serna (Sr., West Jordan, Utah).
Jordin Schaller (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named to the second team.
Taylor Potter (So., Thornton, Colo.) and
Shelby Ransom (So., Lakewood, Colo.) were both named Honorable Mention.
This is the second RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year in program history. In 2011, the Pack's
Savannah Thompson received the award.
The ThunderWolves earned the third seed in the Mountain Division and opened the RMAC Tournament with a 2-0 win at Regis, earning a spot in the semifinals Friday at 7:30 p.m. against No. 25 Colorado School of Mines. The game will be played at UCCS' Mountain Lion Stadium.
