Pack fall 1-0 in double overtime versus Regis

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 20, 2021) - Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer season came to an end following a 1-0 (2OT) defeat against Regis in the Quarterfinals Round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, Tuesday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The ThunderWolves played fast and was the more aggressive team throughout the match, recording twenty shots and seven on goal.

Vinzent Zingel (So., Aachen, Germany) led all players with five shots and four landing on goal. Nazar Deputat (Sr., Ocala, Fla.) finished with four shots.

In the first half, CSU Pueblo led 6-4 in shots and managed five corners.

Midway through the first period, a foul against Regis set up a free kick for the ThunderWolves that hit the post.

In the second half, Pack goalkeeper Garret Wild (Jr., Brownsville, Tex.) made a huge save at the net and keep the shutout intact.

The ThunderWolves continued to apply pressure on the Rangers defense and fired eight shots in the half.

In the overtime, the Pack created several scoring opportunities and earned four shots.

The second overtime, a lapse at midfield from the Pack with less than three minutes on the clock, allowed for Regis to drive the ball into the final third and cross a pass from the left side in to the box for a one timer goal that hit the back of the net for the Golden Goal.

Wild finished with five saves against nine shots by RU.

CSU Pueblo's season comes to an end with a 5-2-2 record under first year Head Coach Oliver Twelvetrees.

Joe O'Sullivan (Sr., Deltona, Fla.), Miguel De Leon Jr. (Jr., Deltona, Fla.) and Zingel each finish with a team high five goals on the year.
