RMAC CHAMPIONS! ThunderWolves win league title, Ni crowned Individual Champ

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (April 20, 2021) – Ten years, almost to the day, since their last Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship, the Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf team is again the league's best, as the ThunderWolves were crowned the 2021 RMAC Champions Tuesday at Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
 
The ThunderWolves claimed their 16th conference title in program history and were guided by the program's 14th conference champion, as Andrew Ni (Jr., Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) was crowned the 2021 RMAC Individual Champion after finishing the tournament three-under.
 
CSU Pueblo shot 287-294-293—874 to finish the Championships 10-over and win by 16 strokes. Fort Lewis College was second at 26-over. The last league title won by the ThunderWolves was the 2011 RMAC Championship. In that year, Chad Novak won the individual crown and is the last member of CSU Pueblo to win the conference championship. 
 
Ni led a group of three Pack players in the top five. He shot an even-par 72 Tuesday to finish 70-71-72—213 (-3) and win by five strokes. He started and finished his round with a birdie. Ni led the field in Par 4 scoring at two-under. He carded the most pars with 41. 
 
Jamie Roberts (R-Fr., Kinross, Scotland, UK) shot a one-over 73 in the final round to move up a spot and finish tied for second, as he closed the Championships two-over. His round consisted of 14 pars and two birdies and he was one-under on the back nine. He posted a consistent 72-73-73—218 (+2) for the tournament. Roberts tied for the lead among the field in Par 3's at one-over and was tied for second with 39 pars. 
 
Matt Millar (Fr., Devon, England, UK) had a roller coaster round that started with the team's only eagle of the day and included a double and triple bogey. He played the final five holes two under to earn medalist honors and tie for fifth at four-over. He shot 71-73-76—220 (+4) for the Championships. Millar led the team and tied for second among the field in Par 5 scoring at four-under. He also led the team with 10 birdies. 

Nathan McCann (Jr., Lurgan, Armagh, Ireland) was the other player to score in today's round, as he produced an even par 72 that included 12 pars, three birdies and three bogeys. He moved up nine spots from Monday to finish tied for 22nd (79-77-72—228).

Junior Clay Kucera (Jr., Chaska, Minn.) closed the tournament with an 80 in the final round. He had 10 pars and eight bogeys on the day. Kucera tied for 42nd (74-88-80—242). 

The ThunderWolves now turn their attention to the NCAA West/South Central Region Championships, set for May 6-8 in DuPont, Washington.
