LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 8, 2021) - The No. 11/12 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf team wrapped its first tournament of the spring, finishing fourth as a team at the Las Vegas Desert Classic. Junior
Andrew Ni (Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) led the ThunderWolves, finishing in third place after shooting -7 (209) over the two day tournament.
The Pack led all RMAC schools at the event, scoring -1 (863) and Ni finished ahead of his fellow RMAC-contenders. The ThunderWolves finished 19 strokes ahead of the next RMAC school, Colorado Mesa.
CSU Pueblo finished one stroke behind third place Indianapolis and two strokes behind second place Oklahoma Christian University. The Pack carded a +4 (292) on day three.
Central Missouri took the team title shooting a -17 under. UIndy's Erik Edwards finished atop the leaderboard, scoring a -13 (203).
For the ThunderWolves, Ni scored a +5 (77) in round three after shooting a -12 (132) in the first two rounds on Monday.
Jamie Roberts (R-Fr., Kinross, Scotland) ended the weekend tied for 14th place after scoring +1 (73) in round three, Tuesday. Roberts carded four birdies on day three.
Sam Barthram (Jr., Weybridge, Surrey, England, UK) finished tied for 22nd (+3) after scoring a -1 (71) on Tuesday.
Clay Kucera (Jr., Chaska, Minn.) and
Nathan McCann (Jr., Lurgan Armagh, Ireland) each carded a +2 (74) to finish T-29 and T-34th, respectively.
CSU Pueblo will next compete March 22-23 at the Saint Martin's Invite/Regional Preview in Dupont, Wash.
